Friday evening I am leaving to Denver. Not sure if Josh is going as of now, but it will be me and maybe him. I found out this was the last 3 day weekend for work until May so I thought I would hop on over to Denver to see dear ol' daddy. He is doing well, we hit a bump in the road a few days ago though. The nurses were cleaning his trach out (I think) and it got clogged and he almost stopped breathing. (I think) Something of that sort, all I know is he almost stopped breathing so they put him back on the ventilator. Tomorrow he will be off the ventilator (keep your fingers and toes crossed) and be doing better. He is doing well today, but a new day brings new adventures, and hopefully better news and better improvement. The doctors gave him some medicine to start waking him up out of the coma, but then told my stepmom that he has to want to wake up. UM.............duh, you idiots of course he wants to wake up. Im sure he just wants to lay there with tubes in every hole in his body, while his beloved family sits by his side thanking god that we have one more day with him, and praying that it wont be our last. Im sure he just loves all the pain, and the catheter not working one day so he couldn't pee so the nurses thought he was having a seizure because his heart rate jumped, and his arm straightened out really stiff, come to find out his catheter wasn't working so he couldn't pee and was in alot of pain, he realized he was in pain even when in a coma so it was that bad, and you know all the other fun stuff.
SO the dogs will have the house to themselves while mom and dad are away, as long as Josh goes with. I hope he does go so I have the support there with me, he is my rock hands down, and so I dont have to wander Denver International by myself because I am so shy that I wont ask someone where anything is at, so I will wander around like a dork. My grandma, little brother, little sister, and dads sister will also be there, so it will be nice to see them. Now that he is starting to wake up, I hope he will remember that I was there and know that I love him regardless of the past we have had, and that he will know im not the brat I was perceived to be. So, as I am flying over the rockies, I will hopefully not be white knuckling the arm rest because of turbulance, keep my family in your thoughts through our rough time. Our little town is sure reaching out to our family. Anywhere they go, people ask how dad is doing and tell us to hang in there, and take one day at a time. Most of the time we don't know the people who come up to us, even me here at the credit union, a ladys mom lives in south dakota and knew thats where i was from and asked how he was doing. I heard from a childhood freind on my blog also. When my uncle went to pick up my dads family dog (milo) at the vet where he was being boarded at, they didn't charge him for the stay. The poor little guy was there since christmas day, so the bill was atleast a thousand dollars im sure. They just said they hope dad is doing ok, and not to worry about anything at all. There are benefits for our family, and an account has been opened at the credit union also. It's times like these when you realize how thoughtful and wonderful your neighbors are, even if they know all your business. The pastor of our church that I went to since I was born, has Milo at his house to play with his dogs and his kids, my little brother and sister go take him for walks and play with him, so atleast the little guy isn't at the kennel anymore. Im very glad to be able to go back and see dad, even if it is for a few days, and a really quick trip.
I just hope he knows Im there, pulling for him, and cheering him on, even if I am bawling like a baby.
