Dad has made some small, but highly significant improvements. He has a new thereapist too. Karen was in there one morning while the therapist was there and she asked him if his name was Bryon and he slowly nodded yes, they asked him if he had kids and he slowly nodded yes. If Karen sits in a chair and says "bryon look at me" he will look over at her. If she walks to the other side of the bed he will follow her with his good eye. (the left one) His right eye does not open due to the trauma it sustained. The doctors say it has nerve damage, but can be fixed with surgery once he is fully recovered. So, it will be fixed in the future. He no longer needs the boots during the day for his feet, just at night time. The doctors aren't worried about "drop foot" anymore. That is when the muscles of the feet give out and the feet fall forward. He moves his in circles so much that they don't have to worry is what im guessing. Moving the feet in circles is also a good thing, that takes thinking. He also squeezed the doctors hand one day too! I know when we were there his arthritis was acting up pretty bad in his hands, not sure how it is now though. All these are little improvements for us, but for him they are HUGE mountains to climb. so keep your fingers crossed and your prayers coming, I have since gone back on anti-depressants because I got so worried. I feel a little better and hope I wont have to be on them for long. This sure is hard, but he is worth every fighting chance god gives us.
All my love
